Hours

We are open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. 

We are open year-round, but do close on major holidays, one week in spring, one week in summer, and up to two weeks at the end of the year for winter break. ​Our calendar changes every year, please get an updated copy from the center’s director.

The following are No School Days

  • Labor Day

  • Veteran’s Day

  • Thanksgiving Break (2 days)

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day

  • President’s Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Independence Day  (1- 2 days)

  • Winter Break (up to two weeks)

  • Spring Break (one week in March or April)

  • Summer Break (last week of July)

  • One to two Teacher In-Service Training Days 

  • A few planned early closure days

Program

  • Licensed capacity at our San Carlos facility is 79 children, 84 children at the facility in Palo Alto, 132 at our location in North Mountain View and 180 for our South Mountain View.

  • Two nutritious snacks are served daily. Children bring their lunch (which can be heated up for them at the facility); we also have a hot lunch provider if preferred (not available at our San Carlos site).

  • Full time or part time schedules are available. Minimum requirement for enrollment is two full days or three half days per week based on availability. 

  • Children are placed by age. Each age group shares the same curriculum, and classroom rotations. 

  • Our ratios vary depending on your child’s age group; each classroom accommodates approximately twelve children with a head teacher.

    • Toddlers (18 to 24 months at entry) 1:6 sustained​

    • Twos (24 to 36 months at entry) 1:6 non-sustained/1:12 sustained

    • 3’s and Pre-K (3-5 years old at entry) 1:8 non-sustained/1:12 sustained        

*Please note, our San Carlos campus can only accept children as young as 24 months.

  • Resting time is required for all of the children every day after lunch (there are no alternative provisions for non-nappers).

  • Our curriculum offers a wide variety of themes to introduce the children to many concepts, topics and cultures.

Potty Training

  • Children still in diapers are welcome for those entering the Toddlers, 2’s and 3’s classes. 

  • Children are only required to be fully potty-trained prior to admittance into the Pre-k class and Mandarin Immersion classes

Enrichment Programs

Children are exposed to a great variety of entertaining and educational enrichment programs at no additional charge. While these programs can vary somewhat at each facility, we offer a variety of these classes including: Foreign Languages, Music, and Movement (dance, gymnastics, yoga, etc.).

*Most of these programs are available as part of our afternoon program.
